Murgon Agents yarded 950 yesterday where values for most descriptions saw improvement. Export cattle and feeders were 20 to 30 cents dearer in places compared to the previous sale. Lighter cattle also sold to dearer rates depending on quality. Bullocks topped at $3.72 per kilo for $2717.00. Heavy Bulls sold to $3.16 c/kg for $3026.00. Cows over 500kg sold to $3.36 per kilogram and $2440.00 averaging $3.12 per kilo. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.12 for $1545.00. Cows up to 400kg topped at $2.30 per kilo and $780.00. Export heifers sold to $3.70 per kg and $2200.00.
Charbray steers from Yarraman sold to 398c/kg weighing 400kg to return $1594.00, Charolais cross steers from Goomeri sold to 396c/kg at 401kg to return $1589.00. 2 pens of Charolais cross steers ex. Goomeri sold for 430c/kg to return $1564.00 & $1479.00. Braford steers out of Mount Perry made 448c/kg at 318kg to return $1428.00. Braford steers also from Mount Perry sold to 456c/kg weighing 267kg to return $1220.00. Charolais steers from Kingaroy sold to 436c/kg to return $1360.00
Charbray heifers from Mondure sold to 363c/kg at 477kg to return $1733.00. Droughtmaster heifers from Wooroonden made to 330c/kg at 354kg returning $1169.00. 285kg Droughtmaster heifers from Wondai made 350c/kg to return $998.00. Droughtmaster heifers from Proston sold to 342c/kg at 244kg to return $837.00. Charolais heifers from Kingaroy made out to 338c/kg and returned $835.00.

Just over 1000 head yarded in Murgon yesterday where vales remained firm for the better quality cattle. Heavy feeder cattle were easier as were lesser quality lighter steers and heifers. Bullocks sold to $3.44 c/kg and $2610.00. Heavy Bulls topped at $3.00 c/kg and $2330.00. Cows over 500 kg sold to $3.01 c/kg and $1695.00. Cows 400 to 500 kg sold $2.76 and $1360.00. Heavy heifers to slaughter sold to $3.50 c/kg and $2220.00.
Cattle were drawn from all local areas as well as Biloela, Mt Perry, Gayndah, Durong, Blackbutt and Wallaville.
2 pens of Charolais steers from Wyalla, weighing 473 & 334 kg sold to a top of $3.82 c/kg to average $1381.00. Angus cross steers from Wooroonden sold to $3.40 c/kg at 452 kg for $1539.00. Santa cross steers out of Proston 334 kg sold to $3.70c/kg and $1237.00. 283 kg Angus cross steers from Redgate averaged $1090.00 at $3.84 c/kg. Good Droughtmaster weaner steers from Gayndah weighing 282 kg sold for $3.86 to return $1091.00. Local bred Charbray weaner steers topped at $4.00 c/kg returning to $1160.00.
