Numbers were back to 650 in Murgon, the lowest number in months. This helped most values to remain firm, with some descriptions selling to slightly dearer rates. The yarding was of very mixed quality. No Bullocks were yarded to quote on. Heavy Bulls improved, topping at $3.84 c/kg for $3450.00. Heavy Cows were also slightly dearer selling to$3.76 per kilogram and $2670.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.65 for $1780.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.88 & $1100.00. Export heifers topped at $4.00 c/kg and $2180.00. Steers 400 to 500kg were very mixed in content selling to $4.90 per kilo and $2280.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket sold to $4.40 c/kg and $1580.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $4.04 and $1960.00. The market for heifers 300 to 400kg topped at $4.50 per kilo and $1730.00. Weaner steers sold to $4.85 & $1230.00. The best of the weaner heifers yarded sold to $4.20 c/kg & $1030.00, with a big percentage selling between $3.00 & $3.50. Droughtmaster cows & calves sold to $1825.00.

It was a very mixed yarding of 950 head in Murgon for the fortnightly liveweight sale. Most descriptions were cheaper with lesser quality cattle taking the brunt of the reduction. Better lines of feeder steers & heifers sold to firm rates as did better quality weaner steers & heifers. Few Bullocks were yarded selling to $4.58 c/kg and $2480.00. Heavy Bulls topped at $3.64 c/kg for $3220.00. Heavy Cows sold to $3.70 per kilogram and $2740.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.40 for $1580.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.98 & $1130.00. Export heifers sold to $3.60 c/kg and $1900.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $5.02 per kilo and $2000.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket sold to $4.96 c/kg and $1860.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $3.92 and $1900.00. The market for heifers 300 to 400kg topped at $3.90 per kilo and $1540.00. Weaner steers sold to $5.10 & $1370.00. Weaner heifers sold to $3.60 c/kg & $970.00. Charbray cows & calves sold to $1550.00.

Feeder cattle remained reasonably firm as did better quality weaners. Bullocks sold to $4.16 c/kg and $2580.00. Bulls topped at $3.70 c/kg for $2860.00. Heavy Cows sold to $3.80 per kilogram and $2640.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.60 for $1650.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.88 & $1015.00. Export heifers sold to $4.18 c/kg and $2170.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $5.06 per kilo and $2100.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket sold to a top of $5.12 c/kg and $1920.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $4.10 and $1790.00. The market for heifers in the 300 to 400kg bracket topped at $4.40 per kilo and $1640.00. Weaner steers sold to $5.14 per kilo for $1420.00 averaging around 450 cents per kilo. Light weaner steers sold to $5.30 & $760.00. Weaner heifers averaged around $3.60 topping at $4.40 per kilo and $1140.00.
