1100 were yarded in Murgon today. All descriptions remained reasonably firm. Lesser quality lighter steers & heifers were cheaper compared to the previous sale. The yarding of export cattle was very mixed in quality & condition but sold to solid values throughout. Better quality feeder steers & heifers were short in supply. Bullocks sold well to top at $4.58 c/kg and $3450.00. Heavy Bulls topped at $3.96 c/kg for $3760.00. Heavy Cows sold to $3.92 per kilogram and $2860.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.70 for $1790.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.56 & $1020.00. Export heifers sold to $4.28 c/kg and $2480.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $5.32 per kilo and $2580.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket also sold to $5.22 c/kg and $1980.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $3.84 and $1740.00. The market for heifers 300 to 400kg topped at $5.00 per kilo and $1670.00. Weaner steers sold to $5.48 & $1510.00. Weaner heifers sold to $4.15 c/kg & $1120.00 averaging around $3.50 per kilo. Santa cjows & calves sold to $2000.00.

Agents yarded 1450 head yesterday in Murgon of which 450 were export cattle. Most export descriptions were slightly cheaper with the exception of heavy bulls which remained fully firm. Feeder steers sold to very strong rates as did suitable feeder heifers. Better quality weaner age steers and heifers sold to a strong market. Few Bullocks were yarded selling to $4.18 c/kg and $3760.00. Bulls topped at $3.72 c/kg for $3480.00. Heavy Cows sold to $3.72 per kilogram and $2520.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.86 for $1880.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $3.38 & $1320.00. Export heifers sold to $4.18 c/kg and $2030.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $5.54 per kilo and $2590.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket also sold to $5.62 c/kg and $2120.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $4.88 and $1990.00. The market for heifers in the 300 to 400kg bracket topped at $4.76 per kilo and $1760.00. Weaner steers sold to $5.78 & $1520.00. Weaner heifers averaged around $3.80 and topped at $4.60 per kilo and $1160.00.

Feeder cattle remained reasonably firm as did better quality weaners. Bullocks sold to $4.16 c/kg and $2580.00. Bulls topped at $3.70 c/kg for $2860.00. Heavy Cows sold to $3.80 per kilogram and $2640.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.60 for $1650.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.88 & $1015.00. Export heifers sold to $4.18 c/kg and $2170.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $5.06 per kilo and $2100.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket sold to a top of $5.12 c/kg and $1920.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $4.10 and $1790.00. The market for heifers in the 300 to 400kg bracket topped at $4.40 per kilo and $1640.00. Weaner steers sold to $5.14 per kilo for $1420.00 averaging around 450 cents per kilo. Light weaner steers sold to $5.30 & $760.00. Weaner heifers averaged around $3.60 topping at $4.40 per kilo and $1140.00.
