Bulls topped at $3.36 c/kg for $2896.00. Cows over 500kg sold to a top of $3.56 per kilogram and $2266.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.38 for $1578.00. Light Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.84 & $1080.00. Export heifers topped at $4.08 c/kg and $2612.00. Cattle were drawn from Gayndah, Durong, Proston, Nanango Kingaroy & locally. 500kg Charbray and Brangus steers from Crownthorpe sold to $4.66 c/kg for $2472.00. Angus steers ex Chelmsford sold for $2003.00 at $4.78 c/kg. A draft of Hereford steers ex Kilcoy sold to $4.90 c/kg and $1601.00. A line of 54 Santa steers from Gayndah sold for to a top of $1370.00 at $4.92 c/kg to average $1182.00. Local Droughtmaster steers 265kg sold for $1171.00 at $4.42 c/kg. Brangus steers from Nanango sold to $4.34 c/kg & $1119.00. Charolais cross weaner steers from Gayndah sold to $5.08 c/kg for $961.00. 380 kg Brangus Heifers from Chelmsford sold for $3.68 c/kg returning $1389.00. Local Simbrah heifers 370 kg sold to $3.48 c/kg and $1288.00. Charolais cross weaner heifers from Gayndah sold to $4.18 c/kg for $961.00. Charolais cross heifers from Cinnabar sold to $4.14c/kg and $768.00. Brahman cross Cows & Calves sold to $1325.00.

Light Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.68 & $1070.00. Export heifers topped at $3.58 c/kg and $2150.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $4.52 per kilo and $1965.00. Steers 300 to 400 kg topped at $4.75 per kg for $1670.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $3.68 and $1750.00. The market for heifers in the 300 to 400kg bracket topped at $3.76 per kilo and $1310.00. 800 were yarded in Murgon today for the fortnightly liveweight sale. The market for better quality cattle was dearer throughout all descriptions. Most noticeable were Export and Feeder types. The younger cattle yarded were very mixed in quality. Bullocks sold to $3.82 c/kg and $2675.00. Bulls topped at $3.26 c/kg for $2670.00. Cows over 500kg sold very strongly topping at $3.36 per kilogram and $2240.00. Cows 400 to 500kg also improved selling to $2.95 for $1450.00. Light Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.60 c/kg. Export heifers topped at $3.80 c/kg and $1850.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $4.48 per kilo and $1815.00. Steers 300 to 400 kg topped at $4.36 per kg for $1700.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $3.55 and $1700.00. The market for heifers 300 to 400kg topped at $3.94 per kilo and $1510.00. Weaner steers sold to a top of $4.58 per kilo for $1150.00. The best of the weaner heifers sold to $3.62 and $1100.00.
