gents yarded 1050 in Murgon today. Export cattle, (mainly cows), depending on weight and quality were 10 to 20 cents cheaper in places. Feeder cattle remained reasonably firm as did better quality weaners. Bullocks sold to $4.16 c/kg and $2580.00. Bulls topped at $3.70 c/kg for $2860.00. Heavy Cows sold to $3.80 per kilogram and $2640.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.60 for $1650.00. Lighter Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.88 & $1015.00. Export heifers sold to $4.18 c/kg and $2170.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $5.06 per kilo and $2100.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket sold to a top of $5.12 c/kg and $1920.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $4.10 and $1790.00. The market for heifers in the 300 to 400kg bracket topped at $4.40 per kilo and $1640.00. Weaner steers sold to $5.14 per kilo for $1420.00 averaging around 450 cents per kilo. Light weaner steers sold to $5.30 & $760.00. Weaner heifers averaged around $3.60 topping at $4.40 per kilo and $1140.00.

Just over 1000 quality Burnett weaners were yarded today for our June Weaner Sale. The yarding consisted of approximately 750 steers and 280 heifers. The consistent quality of the weaners throughout was a credit to the vendors. Charbray steers from the Nichol family Mt Perry sold to $5.50 c/kg and $1440.00. W & S Dollard Manyung sold Charbray steers for $5.36 c/kg and $1575.00 & $5.40 c/kg for $1225.00. Charbray steers a/c M Smith Gayndah sold for $5.42 c/kg returning $1350.00. Simmental cross steers from SJ & KLH Grazing Windera sold for $5.48 c/kg & $1537.00 & $5.44 c/kg for $1346.00. Simmental cross steers a/c W Beddows & Family sold for $5.363 c/kg topping at $1340.00. Light Charbray steers from T & A Dennien Windera sold to $5.38 c/kg and $1055.00. M & R Cooper Windera sold Droughtmaster cross steers for $1416.00 at $5.15 c/kg. M Smith Gayndah sold Charbray heifers for $949.00 at $4.02 c/kg. Local Charolais cross heifers sold for $4.26 c/kg & $1084.00. Brangus heifers a/c Koobooda Grazing Gayndah sold to $4.00 c/kg and $1000.00. A big percentage of the heifer yarding sold from $3.40 to $3.80 c/kg.

Numbers were back to 600 for Murgon’s liveweight sale yesterday. Values for Export cattle improved slightly in places. Feeder and restocker cattle sold to firm values based on the last sale. Few Bullocks were yarded selling to $4.24 c/kg and $2680.00. Bulls topped at $3.54 c/kg for $3020.00. Cows over 500kg sold to $3.48 per kilogram and $2250.00. Cows 400 to 500kg sold to $3.25 for $1550.00. Light Cows under 400 kg sold to $2.70 & $930.00. Export heifers topped at $3.72 c/kg and $1950.00. Steers 400 to 500kg sold to $4.68 per kilo and $2307.00. Steers in the 300 to 400 kg bracket also topped at $4.68 c/kg and $1840.00. Heifers 400 to 500 kg sold to $3.85 and $1740.00. The market for heifers in the 300 to 400kg range topped at $3.70 per kilo and $1390.00. The best of the weaner steers sold to $5.18 per kilo for $1580.00. Weaner heifers sold to a top of $3.80 and $1190.00. A Limited number of Cows & Calves sold to $2100.00.
